On November 29, 2025, the Bishkek City Hall and the company “Bay-Tash Group” signed a memorandum on the construction of a new bridge over the technical channel of the Chokan Valikhanov Bishkek heating network (the so-called “mother-in-law’s tongue”).
This section has been problematic for many years: narrow passage, low traffic capacity, and lack of convenient sidewalks caused significant difficulties for residents of nearby districts. The new bridge will eliminate these limitations and significantly improve transport connectivity.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025. The project provides for six traffic lanes, a total bridge length of 90 meters, and sidewalks 3 meters wide on both sides. Completion and commissioning of the bridge is planned for June 2026. The work will be funded by the Bishkek city budget, with payments made in stages over 3–5 years.
The Bishkek City Hall continues to consistently work on creating convenient and modern urban infrastructure. The implementation of this project is another important step in improving the quality of the urban environment and living conditions for residents.
