An expanded meeting was held at the Bishkek City Hall, chaired by Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliev, dedicated to the development and modernization of the city’s network of public toilets.
As part of the project, 26 potential locations for sanitary facilities have been identified across four districts of the capital:
Shopokova Street, near the “Snail” structure;
Madina Market, 7 April – Mambetova Street, under the bridge;
Zhibek Zholu – Almatinka Avenue, Alamedin Market;
Ulan Microdistrict: 7 April – Akhunbaeva Street;
Ankara – Vinogradnaya Lane, Ethno-Square;
6th Microdistrict, Orekhovaya Roscha;
Bezymyannaya – Zh. Pudovkina Street;
Abdrahmanova – Samanchina Street;
Abdrahmanova – Mederova Street;
Akhunbaeva – Manas Street, Spar Store;
Chokmorova – Shevchenko Street (near DUMI and BGA);
Altymysheva – Tynybekova Lane (near Lux Square);
Sadyrbaeva Street, Sakalduu Gül Park;
Zhayyl Batyr – Chortekova Street, boulevard to the 4th City Hospital;
Chortekova – Aini Street, square near the 4th City Hospital;
Aini – Osmonova Street, new square;
Murmanskaya – Abakanskaya Street, new square under construction (UKS);
Bakaeva – Aini Lane, Ostrovskogo Street;
Toktogula – Erkindik Street;
Togolok Moldo Square;
Russia Cinema;
National Hospital;
Ala-Too Cinema;
Gorkogo – Tynystanova Street, Vefa Shopping Center;
Abdrahmanova – Kievskaya Street;
Profsoyuznaya – P. Lumumba Street.
The selection of locations took into account pedestrian, tourist, and transport flow data, as well as results from residents’ surveys.
Special attention has been paid to the accessibility of urban infrastructure for people with disabilities—all new facilities will be designed according to inclusive standards and principles of a barrier-free environment.
The City Hall encourages residents to actively participate in creating a comfortable urban environment.
