With the onset of cold weather, the Municipal Inspection of the Bishkek City Hall has strengthened measures to protect air quality and prevent environmental violations during the heating season.

In recent weeks, cases have been recorded involving the use of used motor oil, burning of household waste, and other prohibited materials. Such actions lead to the emission of toxic substances and air pollution, which negatively affect the health of residents and the environmental situation in the capital.

To prevent such violations, the Inspection conducts regular raids on bathhouses, saunas, enterprises, and private properties. These inspections aim to identify instances of burning waste from garment production, automotive oils, paints, plastics, rubber, plexiglass, and other toxic substances.

Since the beginning of 2025, 148 raids have been carried out, resulting in the recording of 231 environmental violations. Fines totaling 2,383,500 soms have been imposed for these violations.

The Municipal Inspection reminds residents of the capital of the need to comply with environmental regulations and urges them to:

refrain from using used oils, waste, or other toxic substances for heating;

avoid burning leaves, grass, and household waste;

switch to more environmentally friendly types of fuel whenever possible, including gas heating.

The Inspection emphasizes that burning waste and other prohibited materials entails administrative liability under Article 115, Part 3 of the Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on Offenses.
