On September 30, 2025, the National Library named after A. Osmonov hosted the ceremonial opening of the International Poetry Festival, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the classic Kyrgyz writer Alykul Osmonov.

The program began with a flower-laying ceremony at the poet’s monument. Exhibitions were presented in the library, dedicated to the epic “Manas”, Chingiz Aitmatov, and Alykul Osmonov, as well as displays by painters and sculptors.

As part of the festival, a scientific-practical conference titled “Alykul Osmonov – National Spirit, Heritage of Humanity” took place, with guests from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and representatives of TÜRKSOY.

Welcoming speeches were delivered by State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Imankulov, representatives of TÜRKSOY, the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, and delegations from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Kazakhstan. As a gesture of friendship, national gifts were presented to the governor and mayor of the Turkish city of Elazig.

Key reports were given by academicians Sovetbek Baigaziev and Osmonakun Ibraimov, who highlighted the significance of Osmonov’s work for national culture and the philosophy of the Kyrgyz people.

The event concluded with a concert featuring performers from the “Manas” Theater and creative groups from Turkey.
