In the process of developing the Bishkek City master plan, online surveys have been launched on the websites of the City Hall and the project, the purpose of which is to study public opinion on the current urban situation and determine the prospects for the development of the city territory.

The most active respondents were residents aged 26 to 45 years. According to the survey results, the vast majority of respondents (78%) are professionals in various fields with one or more higher education degrees. 64% of the respondents are indigenous, and 27% have lived in Bishkek for more than 10 years.

One of the objectives of the study is to identify the main directions of the spatial development of the city, to identify significant urban facilities for which there is a shortage, according to residents.

Thus, the survey participants (65%) pay attention to the lack of parks and walking areas. In addition, respondents note a shortage of educational, healthcare, cultural and sports facilities, especially in new and residential areas.

In terms of functionality and construction of new facilities in Bishkek, the respondents considered the water park, sports and recreation complexes, climbing wall, children's and rope parks, virtual travel centers and extreme parks to be priority areas.

Among the most pressing issues, the residents surveyed highlight the problems of transport infrastructure: traffic congestion, lack of sidewalks, overcrowding of public transport.

To address the issues of traffic congestion and overcrowding of public transport, the survey participants proposed a number of comprehensive measures aimed at optimizing the Bishkek city transport system: the construction of bypass and expansion of existing roads, the construction of pedestrian crossings and the organization of additional parking areas.

It is also proposed to develop infrastructure for cyclists, including the creation of separate bike paths, which will help promote an environmentally friendly mode of transport and reduce the load on highways. It should be noted that for daily trips, more than a third of the respondents would like to use a bicycle more actively.

In the field of engineering infrastructure, the survey results demonstrate above-average reliability of engineering infrastructure systems. The respondents' greatest satisfaction is observed in terms of providing the population with centralized water supply services (including the quality of supplied water) and electricity.

Almost all survey participants (92.3%) support the idea of separate waste collection, but point to a lack of dumpsters and recycling bins. Less than 10% of the respondents have containers for separate waste collection within walking distance.

As a solution, respondents suggested building a modern waste recycling plant and organizing affordable separate waste collection, including glass containers for recycling.

When asked about the quality of the environmental situation, only 15% of the surveyed residents are satisfied with the quality of the environmental situation. First of all, citizens are concerned about the issue of greening the city and improving natural facilities.

In addition, residents express concern about the problem of smog in the city and call for a solution to this issue in order to improve air quality and create more comfortable living conditions.
