Developers of the master plan discussed strategic issues of the country’s comprehensive spatial development with a focus on the priority development of Bishkek, Osh, and other cities, as well as the need to create equal, high-quality, and comfortable living conditions. Experts examined the development of the nearest agglomeration connections of Bishkek with surrounding cities such as Kara-Balta, Tokmok, Voenno-Antonovka, and other cities in the Chuy region. Olga Druzina, head of the Urban Economics Department at NII PG, noted: “The city of Bishkek is the main driver of the country. Active development of Bishkek will create a comprehensive multiplier effect and become decisive for the formation of the Bishkek agglomeration.” She also emphasized special attention should be given to ensuring the city has qualified personnel, restoring and developing industrial zones, and food security considering population growth. Developers of the master plan will consider all proposals received during discussions and meetings when preparing project solutions. Residents can participate in social and transport surveys aimed at finding effective solutions during the master plan development. Surveys are available on the official website of the Bishkek Master Plan: https://genplan.bishkek.gov.kg/
