The Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism and Youth Work of the Bishkek City Hall together with the Kyokushin-Budo Karate Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic held the Bishkek Ashihara Karate Championship and Championship.

The purpose of the event is to identify the strongest athletes–winners of the championship and the championship, popularization and development of Ashihara karate, promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people, improving morale and sportsmanship, the formation of high moral and physical qualities.

240 young athletes in 40 weight categories, as well as more than 100 adult fighters in 8 weight categories took to the tatami.

According to the results of the tournament, the places in the team standings were distributed as follows:

1st place – the united team of "Shinobi" clubs in Bishkek (12 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals);

2nd place – the team of the sports club "Cascade" Bishkek (10-gold, 7-silver and 9-bronze medals);

3rd place – the team of the Goju-Ryu sports club in Bishkek (9 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals).
