On December 29, 2025, ahead of the New Year holidays, a garrison formation and briefing of Bishkek police personnel responsible for public order and citizen safety was held at Ala-Too Square.
The event was attended by Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev, Chief of the Bishkek City Police Department Colonel Azamat Toktonaliev, deputy chiefs, district mayors, and heads of city services.
The Mayor emphasized the need for enhanced work during the holiday period, highlighting the importance of maintaining public order and strict law enforcement in areas of mass gatherings, shopping and entertainment centers, and recreational zones.
“I am confident that thanks to your professionalism, coordinated work, and responsible attitude to duty, the New Year holidays will be calm and safe. Every resident and guest of the capital should celebrate the New Year in good spirits and secure conditions,” said Mayor Junushaliev.
The Police Patrol Service Department was tasked with strengthening road safety control during the holidays and intensifying preventive and inspection measures to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations and district administrations were instructed to enhance fire safety measures at sites with mass gatherings.
The Municipal Inspection and district administrations were tasked with organizing efforts to prevent unauthorized street trading, particularly in areas with high public presence, ensuring compliance with established rules and sanitary standards.
The briefing involved 600 police officers and 45 vehicles.
It was noted that during the New Year holidays, the city police transition to an enhanced duty mode.
The event concluded with a ceremonial march of the police personnel.
