An expert discussion on Bishkek’s Master Plan until 2050 was held at the “Zhashtyk” arena with the participation of Mayor Aibek Junushaliev.
Also present were Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov, Chief Architect of the capital Meder Kydyrmaev, experts, active citizens, and the Master Plan developers from the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Urban Planning, who joined via videoconference.
The goal of the discussion was to gather professional comments, proposals, and recommendations from specialists and stakeholders to improve the Master Plan, ensuring its quality, feasibility, and alignment with the needs of the city and its residents.
The mayor emphasized that the development of Bishkek’s Master Plan until 2050 is being conducted transparently and with citizen participation: over 200 official proposals and more than 10,000 survey responses have been received. All comments and initiatives will be reviewed in consideration of the city’s long-term interests and development.
“Bishkek city hall is open to discussion today – we want to hear expert opinions, whether positive or critical. If they help shape the city’s future, we are fully supportive. All proposals that align with our development strategy will be considered and implemented,” the mayor added.
More than 300 people participated in the meeting, each able to view the Master Plan presentation, ask questions, and suggest additional ideas for improvement.
