Temporary shelters for people without a permanent place of residence have begun operating in Bishkek for the autumn-winter period.

In the Oktyabrsky District, a shelter located at 1a A. Tokombaev Street, 12th microdistrict, accommodates up to 80 people. Renovations have been completed, bedding and medical supplies have been provided, and government-funded provisions ensure one hot meal per person. For the heating season, 10 tons of coal have been purchased using the local budget.

In the Pervomaisky District, the municipal institution “Kolomto” operates year-round, accommodating up to 70 people without a permanent residence (address: 413 Zhibek-Zholu Avenue). The shelter provides daily one hot meal and overnight stay for 70–100 homeless people. “Kolomto” is funded by the local budget.

The main functions of “Kolomto” include:

Providing temporary overnight accommodation and free single hot meals;

Conducting medical examinations (fluorography, HIV and TB tests) and initial sanitation (bathing, wound care, clothing changes, etc.);

Annually serving approximately 2,000 individuals without a permanent residence.

In the Leninsky District, the Mercy Center operates a shelter for women with children in difficult life situations. The shelter accommodates up to 45 people and provides one hot meal, overnight stay, medical care, and social-legal assistance. Currently, 10 women and 12 children reside at the Center.

These shelters accept individuals independently, as well as those brought by law enforcement officers or ambulance teams. If you encounter homeless people in need of assistance, please call 102 (police) or 103 (ambulance).
