On September 17, 2025, Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev conducted an on-site inspection of several educational institutions in the capital, including Secondary School No. 56, Gymnasium No. 39, and Special Preschool Educational Institutions No. 117 and No. 87.
Earlier reports on social media indicated the poor condition of School No. 56, which was confirmed during the inspection.
Following the inspection, the Deputy Head of Administration of the Oktyabrsky District, Asel Sadykova, and the Head of the District Education Department, Nurlan Baygulov, were dismissed from their positions. A remark was issued to the Head of the Oktyabrsky District Administration, Zhanybek Orozaliev. Deputy Mayor Viktoria Mozgacheva and the Head of the Bishkek City Education Department, Rahat Musaeva, were held disciplinarily accountable.
The mayor instructed that all identified deficiencies at School No. 56 be addressed by September 22, including cleaning the school yard, repairing sidewalks, restoring greenery, replacing lighting in the gym, securing basement areas, and installing fences to ensure student safety.
Additionally, based on the inspection, the mayor ordered urgent measures to improve conditions at School No. 56 and include it in the list of capital repair projects for next year.
Additional funds from the mayor’s reserve fund will be allocated to create comfortable and safe conditions for students.
During the visit, the mayor also inspected Gymnasium No. 39, Special Preschool Educational Institution No. 117, and Kindergarten No. 87, after which he demanded an acceleration of repair work and strict compliance with safety standards.
