The Capital Construction Department of Bishkek Mayor’s Office has begun the construction of an additional building on the territory of Secondary School No. 89, located in the Uchkun residential area.
The total area of the new building will be 5,607 square meters. The building will be two stories with a basement and will accommodate 570 students (20 classrooms).
The building will be equipped with classrooms, workshops, a library with a reading room, an assembly and sports hall, a medical unit, a kitchen, and a dining hall. Interior finishes will comply with sanitary standards: walls in restrooms and food preparation areas will be tiled, floors will be covered with ceramic tiles, and walls and ceilings will be painted with water-based paint.
It should be recalled that, according to the survey by the State Institute of Seismic-Resistant Construction and Engineering Design, the building of School No. 89 was recognized as unsafe for further operation. The construction of the new building is carried out in accordance with the order of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 12, 2025, No. 266, which provides for the accelerated design and construction of social facilities in Bishkek.
Currently, excavation works are underway at the site. The contractor is Etalon Vin Spec Stroy LLC. Completion of construction is planned for the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.
