In order to improve road safety and to ensure the safety and increase the service life of municipal roads, the Bishkek City Hall introduces temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy trucks on the capital's roads.
Such restrictive measures will be in operation from April 5 to October 1, 2024 from 7:00 to 21:00.
The mechanism of temporary restriction does not apply to vehicles:
-performing transportation of cargoes with humanitarian aid in the presence of the conclusion of the authorized body and only perishable food products;
-attracted by the Mayor's Office of Bishkek City to perform works on construction, repair and maintenance of highways;
-executing municipal order on the territory of Bishkek city.
It should be noted that with the onset of warm weather conditions heavy vehicles worsen the quality of asphalt on the roads. Also, citizens have repeatedly voiced a proposal to only allow heavy-duty vehicles to drive at night.
The corresponding services of the Bishkek City Hall will install road signs prohibiting the movement of heavy vehicles of the above weight on municipal roads until April 5, 2024.
In case of violation of the established requirements, violators will be held liable in accordance with Article 181 of the Contravention Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
