An event dedicated to the International Mother Tongue Day - a competition for the best presentation of one of the cultures of multinational Kyrgyzstan – was held in the capital's Gymnasium School No. 29.
The event was attended by teams of high school students from 12 schools in Bishkek. Each presented to the jury numbers revealing the traditions and customs of the selected peoples. The performances of schoolchildren consisted of theatrical and musical numbers, and turned out to be really interesting and memorable.
The members of the jury of the competition-festival were the representative of the National Commission for the State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Temirbek Osmonaliev, Head of the Department of Development of the state language of the Bishkek City Hall Elvira Niyazbekova, specialist of the Department of Development of the state language of the Bishkek City Hall Nurbek u. Bolot, Head of the Education Department of Bishkek City Hall Ainura Arstambekova, Chief Specialist of the Education Department Guzel Turdubayeva.
Following the results of the event, the Grand Prix was won by Gymnasium No. 66. The first place was won by students of two general education institutions at once – gymnasium School No. 29 and Gymnasium School No. 78. The second place also went to representatives of two schools – Gymnasium School No. 31 and School No. 89. The honorable third place was won by students of schools No. 44 and No. 100.
The event aimed at strengthening the solidarity of the ethnic groups living in Kyrgyzstan, glorifying their culture and native language, was organized by the Education Department of the Bishkek City Hall.
