A requiem rally was held on Victory Square in honor of the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the German Fascist troops by the Red Army near Stalingrad.

The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Mirlan Baigonchokov, Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov, Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Lieutenant General Baktybek Bekbolotov, Head of the Sverdlovsk Region Maksatbek Sargazakov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Nikolay Udovichenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kyrgyz Republic Andrey Strachkov.

The solemn event in honor of the anniversary of the heroic event in the history of the Great Patriotic War, which became a harbinger of the Great Victory, began with the anthem of the Kyrgyz Republic and the laying of flowers to the Eternal Flame.

The event was organized on the initiative of the Republican Council of Veterans of War, Labor, Armed Forces, Law enforcement agencies and Home Front Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
