A requiem rally dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade during the Great Patriotic War was held in the Dair Asanov Park.

The event was attended by Mirlan Baygonchokov, First Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Zhyldyzbek Abdraimov, Deputy Chairman of the BGC, Nikolay Udovichenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Dzhaparov, Head of the Department for Educational Work of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Toktogul Kakchekeev, Chairman of the Republican Council of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies and Home Front Workers, Chairman of the Kyrgyz Society of Leningrad Blockaders Marat Kutanov and Director of the Bishkek Financial and Economic College Aibek Kuluntaev.

The event was opened by the head of the Oktyabrskaya district administration Azamat Doroev.

In memory of those who died during the liberation of Leningrad and the brave who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, a minute of silence was declared, a metronome and a triple volley sounded, after which the participants laid flowers at the monument.

Under the musical composition "Zhalgyz ayaldyn unu", all those present honored the memory and laid flowers at the monument to the besiegers of Leningrad.
