On December 19, 2022, Lydia Petrovna Katkova, an honorary citizen of Bishkek, died at the age of 79 after a long illness.
Lidiya Katkova was born on January 11, 1943 in the village of Ala-Buka, Jalal-Abad region. Graduated from the College of Light Industry, then the Kyrgyz State University.
Lidiya Petrovna worked as an instructor of the Sverdlovsk district Executive Committee, deputy chairman of the Oktyabrsky district executive Committee, from 1978 to 1990 she was deputy chairman of the Bishkek City Executive Committee on Social Issues, from 1991 to 1996 she headed the Department of Trade and Services.
In 2016, she was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Bishkek" for her significant contribution to the development of the city of Bishkek. She has been awarded numerous awards.
Since 1991, she has been active in public work in the city, was a member of the Presidium of the Women's Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
