Tomorrow, December 3, in Bishkek is an international day for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, the pandemic has COVID-19 made its adjustments, this year traditional events will not be held, we pay attention to special citizens locally.
Through the Social Development Department of the Bishkek City Hall, targeted social assistance was provided to 7.122 people with disabilities in the form of a lump sum payment, including a thousand children, they will receive sweet gifts.
The heads of districts also support special citizens, they visit Bishkek residents, give gifts and provide material assistance through district administrations.
Note that work on the provision of targeted social assistance is ongoing, 22 types of targeted assistance are provided in the capital, including in the form of payments:
• quarterly social stipends for disabled war veterans, home front workers with disabilities for 1.3 million soms;
• monetary compensation for solid fuel (coal) by 2.625 families consisting of PWDs in the amount of 14.9 million soms;
• Quarterly scholarships for 3.360 low-income families of PWDs in the amount of 6.7 million soms;
• Housing subsidies for utility bills to 3,450 families, including families with PWD, in the amount of 15 million soms;
• only in Bishkek city disabled 1; 2; 3 groups of general illness, work injury, disabled children enjoy free travel on public transport.
In addition, the metropolitan mayor's office cooperates, provides support with various public organizations, associations and centers of special citizens.
Recall that the structure of the SDC includes 13 institutions: 4 regional SDCs, two nursing homes and disabled people, three centers for children in difficult life situations, MU "Kolomto", a center for helping children (CPC), GC "Ardager", city rehabilitation center (GRC) for PWDs.
More than 12 thousand people with disabilities are registered in the city system of social development, including:
- 13 invalids of the Second World War;
- 313 people who became disabled as a result of the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident, disabled people of the Soviet army, disabled internationalists, home front workers with a disability group;
- 2955 disabled people with a general disease (I, II, III groups);
- 2634 people with visual and hearing impairments;
- 6349 disabled children under 18 years of age and older
