Today, at the initiative of the United Nations (UN), an annual 16-day Campaign against Gender-based Violence has launched around the world, calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against girls and women.
The Bishkek city hall did not stand aside; in solidarity, we join the actions to ensure the safety of all citizens. After all, we must live in a safe city where there is no violence.
As part of the action, an orange light will burn in the building of the capital's city hall for 16 days.
The campaign to end all forms of violence against women will last until 10 December of International Human Rights Day.
Reference: Orange today symbolizes hope for a better future where women are not subjected to violence.
Bishkek is the beloved safe city!
