The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, congratulated the city’s transport workers on their professional holiday — the Day of Automobile Transport and Road Industry Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his congratulatory speech, the city head thanked drivers for their tireless and conscientious work and their invaluable contribution to the development of the city’s transport system.

*"Over the past three years, with the support of President Sadyr Japarov, 1,000 new gas-powered buses from China have been purchased, replacing more than three thousand minibuses. With the assistance of international partners, 120 electric buses have been acquired, 85 charging stations installed, and bus depots No. 1 and No. 2 fully renovated.

Today, over 1,500 vehicles serve the residents of Bishkek daily. In the near future, another 95 new 12-meter Yutong buses are expected to arrive. Approximately 3,500 people work in the sector, including 2,500 drivers.

Significant attention is also being given to the road sector. This year, major repairs are planned for 125 streets and sidewalks on 38 streets. Repairs have already been completed on 51 streets, and more than 20,000 linear meters of sidewalks have been restored. Four bridges are under construction, one of which has already been put into operation. More than 300 pieces of equipment and around 1,000 specialists are involved in the works.

We will continue to develop transport and road infrastructure, creating comfortable conditions for the residents of our city,"* emphasized A. J. Junushaliev.

Outstanding employees of the city’s transport services were awarded Certificates of Honor and letters of appreciation from the Bishkek City Hall and the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.
