On October 18, 2025, a tree-planting ceremony took place in the Ak-Orgo residential area, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The event was attended by Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Meder Mashiev, Minister of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies Azamat Djamangulov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meder Abakirov, UN Resident Coordinator Antje Grave, along with deputy mayors, city officials, and local community representatives.
Mayor Junushaliev congratulated participants on the UNDP anniversary and highlighted the organization’s contribution to the city’s development:
"As part of the national 'Zhasyl Muras' campaign, UNDP actively supports initiatives for greening and environmental protection. We greatly appreciate your assistance in implementing projects that make Bishkek greener, cleaner, and more comfortable to live in," the mayor said.
In honor of UNDP’s 60th anniversary, 60 trees of various species—including birches, rowans, and red-leaf maples—were planted in the park.
