On September 21, 2025, the main sporting race of the country, Bishkek Snow Leopard Run, took place at Ala-Too Square. For the sixth time, it gathered around 5,000 participants, including 500 children aged 3 to 13.

At the opening, Mayor of Bishkek Aybek Junushaliev emphasized that each participant contributes to the conservation of nature and the snow leopard, and that the city administration will continue supporting sports initiatives and promoting an active lifestyle.

The route ran through the central streets of the city — Chui Avenue, Yu. Abdrakhmanova Street, the VDNH area, and Ch. Aitmatov Avenue. Distances of 5 km, 14 km, and a half marathon of 21.1 km were prepared for participants, and the Kid’s Run included 100 m, 300 m, 500 m, and 1 km distances for children.

The event had an international scale: athletes and enthusiasts from 24 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Germany, the UK, the USA, Turkey, and others, participated. In total: 672 international athletes, 1,245 participants from regions of Kyrgyzstan, and 2,865 residents of the capital.

In January 2025, the race joined the Alliance of Marathons of Turkic Peoples (TAN), and the route is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), included in the international half-marathon calendar.

The race featured professionals, amateurs, people with disabilities, and children with special needs. Part of the entry fees traditionally goes to programs for the conservation of the snow leopard and its ecosystem.

Participants enjoyed photo zones, food courts, and prize draws. All finishers received commemorative medals, and winners were awarded by sponsors.

The event became not only a sporting but also a socially significant occasion, uniting residents and guests of the capital in support of ecology and a healthy lifestyle.
